A Soul Pause

Weekly Examen Prayer

Five gentle movements, once a week. An old practice that helps you see the week with God — not just review it. Around fifteen unhurried minutes, for anyone wanting to pause and listen.

I · Gratitude

Where was grace?

Sit with

Looking back over the week, where did you notice God's kindness — in a person, a moment, a small mercy you almost missed?
Saved

II · Presence

Where were you with God?

Sit with

When this week did you feel most awake to God's presence — in your daily walk, your rest or worship, your work, or your relationships?
Saved

III · Honesty

Where did you drift?

Sit with

Where did fear, hurry, pride, or pressure lead you this week — at home, at work, in prayer, or with others? Name it gently, without shame. The Spirit names things to heal them, not to accuse.
Saved

IV · Invitation

What is God inviting?

Sit with

As you look at the week ahead, what one small invitation are you sensing from God — to slow, to speak, to release, to begin?
Saved

V · Surrender

What will you hand over?

Sit with

What burden, person, decision, outcome — or quiet loss you've been bracing against — will you place back into His hands as you close this examen?
Saved
Going deeper this week +

A few honest questions to sit with. Take one — not all four.

  • · What are the pressure points in your life? Where is life difficult right now?
  • · What is your biggest energy drain? Your second biggest?
  • · What area of your life has been most alive — or most tender — over the last six weeks?
  • · What in your life are you most motivated to change?

If any of these are stirring something you'd like to walk through with someone, a Christian leadership coach or a Christian spiritual director would be glad to sit with you for a first conversation. No cost, no pressure.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart… and lead me in the way everlasting."

Psalm 139:23–24

Rhythms become formation when they're protected. Set a weekly window to sit with God — small, repeatable, yours.

If now feels rushed, that's okay. Formation rarely happens in a hurry — sit with God later and return when you can be fully present.
