Part 4 of 7 The Role of Silence in Leadership

Part 4 of 6

The Role of Silence in Leadership

Opening reflection

Silence can feel uncomfortable in leadership. We often equate movement with progress. Words with wisdom. Speed with effectiveness.

Yet throughout Scripture, silence becomes a place where fear settles, motives surface, and deeper clarity begins to emerge.

Silence does not eliminate uncertainty. But it often reveals what hurry was hiding.

Scripture

"Be still, and know that I am God."

Psalm 46:10

Reflect

Sit with each prompt unhurriedly. Your reflections save automatically.

Reflect

What surfaces in silence that gets buried in busyness?
Your reflections stay on this device. We never see them.Saved

Reflect

What are you avoiding by staying constantly occupied?
Your reflections stay on this device. We never see them.Saved

Reflect

Where might God be inviting you to slow down?
Your reflections stay on this device. We never see them.Saved

Prayer

Father, meet me in the quiet. Help me become attentive again — not merely to outcomes, but to Your presence. Amen.

Walking

With God this week — and, if you can, with someone.

Begin one meeting this week with one full minute of silence.
