Looking Back Before Looking Ahead

Opening reflection

Before rushing toward the future, it helps to notice where God has already been present.

Often the clearest signs of formation are only visible in hindsight. Joseph could not see, in the pit or the prison, how God was forming him for what was to come — only later did the long obedience make sense.

Scripture

"Remember the wonders he has done."

Psalm 105:5
